Spring Survey

I’ve been opening the gardens for Spring. Checking the survival of plants. Cutting down and chipping stems and leaves surrounding the crown to give them breathing room. We ordered a new swing for our woodland garden after my oak swing, which I built for my mother 49 years ago, finally saw its last day. Looking forward to putting in our new cypress swing. We ordered it online and it’s supposed to arrive Friday by UPS.

I enjoy giving people who stroll my gardens a place to sit and relax, and this is a favorite spot for Janet and me to sit and eat ice cream in the Summer!

Very soon I will be gathering branches to repair and rebuild any of my arbors that did not survive the Winter of 2010-11. I enjoy creating my arbors to lead and direct people thru the gardens and they provide a home for my Winter Christmas lights.
