I was working on the computer and heard a bird screech outside the window, so stood up and was thrilled to see the hawk on our arbor below! I grabbed my little pocket camera from my desk and snapped a couple of pics, realizing the lack of telephoto capability, window screen, dirty windows, and curling ribbon blowing back and forth across the window ( that I'd put up to help prevent birds from flying into the window) were all preventing a decent photo. I remembered I had my other camera on the kitchen table, so praying that the bird wouldn't move, I crept hurriedly down the stairs, ducking beneath the windows, snatched the camera and snuck back to the window above the sink. Too late. The hawk was gone. Movement across the yard caught my eye & I spotted the hawk perched on a tree branch. Quick snap. I was able to snap another quick photo while the hawk took off across the yard. None of the pictures turned out very well, but they remind me of the excitement I felt when I looked out and saw the hawk on our arbor! Janet Shingleton |
